My name is Cindy Heisler and I am a retired Cop from Colorado. I am riding my bicycle over 3,700 miles from the Peace Arch Border Crossing in Canada to the Law Enforcement Officer’s Memorial in Washington, D.C. Why? I’m glad you asked!
I am riding to support and raise awareness for non-profit organizations that are close to my heart. These organizations are the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation, C.O.P.S. (Concerns of Police Survivors), Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation, and The Honor Network. My goal is to raise a minimum of $25,000 for each organization. Yep, that’s at least $100K!
I am riding to Honor America’s Heroes in Law Enforcement, Fire, EMS, and our Armed Forces. In addition, I will be raising awareness about the invisible diseases of Crohn’s and ulcerative colitis, which affect 3.1 million Americans and has directly impacted my family.
When will I ride? Also, glad you asked! Timing depends on $$. Because this is a 1-person show, that’s me, I need to raise 100% of the money BEFORE my ride, plus cover the logistical costs for me and my support team. Stop by The Honor Network GDRV 395M or find me wandering around the rally to find out how you can donate to support #BC2DC! I will have a list of needs for the ride and it is only the necessities.
All monies will be collected and distributed by The Honor Network, as the parent 501(c)(3) non-profit organization for this ride. All donations received in support of our ride will be split equally between these organizations. The Honor Network will present a check to each organization at the completion of our ride.
I would appreciate your support in my mission. Check out the donation links! Please follow me on Instagram and Twitter at #BC2DC. Please subscribe to The Honor Network YouTube channel, where all #BC2DC videos will be published.
